MacDougall
Clan Macdougall of Argyll and the Isles, Scotland; descended from Dougall, son of Somerled, who after his father’s death in 1164, held most of Argyll and the islands of Mull, Lismore, Jura, Tiree, and Coll and styled himself, King of the South Isles and Lord of Lorne and was acknowledged by the King of Norway. His two sons Duncan and Ewan built many castles including the chief's seat at Dunollie.
Arms: Quarterly, 1st and 4th, azure, a lion rampant argent, armed and langued gules, 2nd and 3rd, or, a lymphad sable, sails furled and a beacon on the topmast proper.
Crest: (on a chapeau gules, furred ermine) A dexter arm in armour embowed fessways couped proper, holding a cross crosslet fitchee erect gules.
Motto: Buaidh no bas (To conquer or die).
