Clan Broun or Brown of Colstoun in Haddingtonshire, Scotland, baronet 1686. Descended from the French royal Capet family and first came to note when Sir David Le Brun witnessed the laying of the foundation of the Abbey of Holyrood House in 1128, to which the family gave much land.
