Clan Mac Neil or Macneil of Barra, Inverness-shire; chief of the Macneills, an ancient Clan of the Western Isles, in ancient times enrolled under the standards of the Lords of the Isles, now represented by the Macneills, of Barra.

Arms: Quarterly, 1st, vert a lion rampant or; 2nd argent in base the sea with a castle above the sea proper; 3rd or, a lymphad sable sails furled; 4th, or, a dexter hand erect, couped gules within an orle of nine fetterlocks gules.

Crest: On a chapeau gules, turned up ermine, a rock proper.

Motto: Buaidh no bas (ancient motto: Vincere vel mori) (Victory or Death)
